Are you struggling to understand your child?

A few years ago, I was struggling with one of my daughters.

I was easily annoyed and frustrated with her. I couldn’t understand why she would say or do certain things.

I decided to look for the good in her.

I prayed for help and put my brain to work on looking for the good inside of her.

I saw a lot of it. It oozes out of her. Now, I adore her.

I don’t always agree with her but I can usually parent her from a place of love rather than annoyance and frustration. I can show up as a better mom, more aligned with how I want to be.

I’m not saying she is perfect. Nor am I. But I am saying she is pretty great. Just like you. And me.

Try it out. Decide to look for the good in someone you are easily annoyed with. Write down the good you see. Try it for a week. I’d love to hear how it goes. DM me or text me after you try it.
